REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The Association of Indonesian Express, Post and Logistics Services (Asperindo) companies agreed to adjust shipping rates. Asperindo General Chairman Mohamad Feriadi said this in accordance with letter No. 122 / DPP.ASPER / XI / 2018.
For this reason, Feriadi said together with more than 200 other Asperindo member companies throughout Indonesia to adjust the shipping rates. Also included is JNE which increases shipping rates.
“Adjustment of logistics rates is carried out so that the business climate between express, post and logistic shipping companies remains conducive,” Feriasi said on Wednesday (1/16).
On the other hand, shipping tariff adjustments will have a broad impact. That way, Feriadi, who is also the Managing Director of JNE, considers that the tariff adjustment policy is the last step that should be made to the maximum extent possible not to occur.
He acknowledged like JNE, in recent years several times have increased shipping rates or shipping costs. “This is driven by various factors, both external and internal,” Feriadi said.
JNE in 2018 increased its shipping rate by 17. In addition, in 2013 it rose again by 10 to 15 percent. Then in 2015 JNE also increased shipping costs by 10 to 15 percent as well.
This year, after the increase in airplane cargo, JNE again raised its tariff to an average of 20 percent. Increased rates apply for regular services, OKAY, and YES since yesterday (15/1) from Jabodetabek to all domestic destinations.
Despite the increase, Feriadi said that JNE also reduced JNE shipping costs by an average of 17 percent. The policy applies to shipments from Jabodetabek to several, namely Tegal, Purwakarta, Cilegon, Cirebon, Semarang, Surabaya, Bandar Lampung, Madiun, Malang, Probolinggo, Jember, Kupang, Pontianak, Palangkaraya, Samarinda, Ujungpandang, Sorong, Palembang, Batam, Mataram , Bontang, Kendari, Ternate, Ambon, Jayapura, Bengkulu, Jambi, Medan, and Banda Aceh.
